R. L. Turner teacher, Lori Dumerer, has been selected to receive the 2014 Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award from Humanities Texas. This award is presented annually and recognizes teaching excellence in humanities fields such as language arts and social studies at all levels of public education. Because of her award, R. L. Turner will receive $500 for instructional materials for humanities classes. Lori was nominated by a former student who praised her support and encouragement for him during both high school and college.
