The Newman Smith High School Troyanns recently competed at the ShowTime International Sea World Contest in San Antonio, TX. The team received Sweepstakes and Judges Award for scoring a 90 or higher from all judges on all routines. Troyanns won 1st place in their division for Pom, Novelty, and Modern and were awarded overall Champion’s Circle. Additionally, the Troyanns received a special Applause Award from the Judges for “Precision on All Routines.” During their trip, the team toured the Alamo and took a Salsa dance class at the Berta Almaguer Dance Studio.
