The C-FB boys waterpolo A team, made up of swimmers & divers from all four high schools, earned third place for the second straight year at the Regional Consolidated Waterpolo Championship in Southlake. The squad earned the right to play for the final after a 19-1 victory over Grand Prairie and another 6-4 win over Grapevine. In the semi-final, they met a powerful Thunder Ducks team made up of experienced high school players from various area schools. C-FB lost 14-4, taking third place. The girls’ team started with a convincing 13-3 victory over Northwest ISD. C-FB lost 11-5 to Flower Mound to earn 4th place overall. The boys B team lost both close matches, 12-8 to Rockwall and 8-4 to Lake Highlands, finishing in 13th place. Top players for C-FB include Creekview’s Travis Mayfield on offense and Cole Soloman in net. Ranchview’s Maddy Worrell was strong as goaltender for the girls, while Newman Smith’s Kaleigh Putter was C-FB’s overall top scorer, finding the net 11 times.
