“I’d like to take a moment and honor and recognize Ms. Aznavour for her passion and her dedication in teaching Math at McCoy Elementary. I’ve known Ms. Aznavour for almost a year now and I can’t tell you how we’ve enjoyed having her as our sons’ homeroom teacher. She and I first came in contact in Summer 2013, when our son, Anre` Tutu was attending Math Summer Camp in preparation for 4th grade at McCoy Elementary. From the get-go, Anre` and I took a liking to her and she’s been a tremendous homeroom teacher as well as a Math teacher.

Ms. Aznavour has a passion for Math teaching and this is quite evident in all the assignments, class work and the most recent Math Competition held last year. I have not come across a teacher who takes time to handwrite homework and class assignments and ‘etching’ the steps to take in solving math problems on the corner of almost each question. There has not been a single day that Anre` is not working on a Math Packet or some Math class assignment.

Anre` made it for the CFB-ISD Math Competition back in November 2013 and talk about the amount of preparation and hard work put into getting all 10 students ready for a tough competition! Ms. Aznavour spent a good amount of time in preparing her students – Anre` was excited about the Math competition as this was his first time – though he did not place, two students from Ms. Aznavour’s class ‘placed’ and that made us all proud.

She has a wonderful spirit and loves her students. Her constant words of encouragement to the students is well received and much appreciated and I know that the students will miss her, as they move on to Middle/Junior High School. She’s one of a kind and worthy of recognition and kudos for who she is and what she does! She rocks!!”
