Newman Smith Competes at National Level

The Newman Smith percussion section recently sent 4 members to compete at PASIC.  The conference was located in Indianapolis, Indiana.   PASIC is recognized as the nations largest percussion conference.  Part of the conference allows high school and college students to compete as soloists and as ensembles.  Newman Smith competed in the Marimba, Multiple Percussion, and small ensemble competitions.  Smith finished First

in small ensemble, Ryan Lalone placed first in Multi Percussion, Kate Lin placed 2^nd in Marimba while Hahnur Kim placed 4^th and John Rahlfs placed 7^th.  Please join me in congratulating these fine students.  The picture below is after the award ceremony.  A video of the small ensemble can be seen using the link below.
