On Sat., Nov. 16, C-FB ISD will hold its 26th annual Mathematics Competition at Creekview High School.Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will compete for medals, ribbons and trophies in either the Team Problem Solving or Individual Competitions.
The Team Problem Solving Competition will require 4 students to work together and solve non-routine problems that stress strategies such as guess and check, look for a pattern, work backwards, draw a picture, make a list, make a table or use logic.
The Individual Competition will consist of a 50-question, multiple-choice test that stresses mathematic concepts and mathematical reasoning. There will be a test designed specifically for each grade level. Medals for the first, three places and ribbons for the next four places will be awarded.
