Dear CFBISD Community,
We are very proud of our diverse population of students and staff that make up CFBISD. On a daily basis, students and staff unite with one main objective – to learn. The learning never stops. Teachers teach students and students teach teachers.
During these times of unrest in our country, we cannot hide the fact that there is still learning to be done. What happened to George Floyd as well as others before him is tragic, heartbreaking and unjust. These things should never happen to anyone. We should celebrate the diversity of our country, but we also have to recognize the disparity that continues to exist.
As a country, we have some work to do. Our prayers and thoughts are with those hurting. We have to find ways to make a difference. That difference starts with each person taking responsibility for their actions, spoken and unspoken. As CFBISD, we choose to celebrate every child for their differences they bring to the classrooms. We have to BE THE EXCEPTION by being good role models for our students and peers, earning respect by giving respect. Education is a very powerful tool. Nelson Mandela was quoted to say, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
